Midwinter Arts and Sciences Faire

The Barony of South Downs invites you to a day celebrating Gutenberg’s Printing Press and other 16th century advances in science and the arts.
The day will include classes, the Investiture of the new Baron and Baroness South Downs, as well as A&S Open and Regional competitions.
Site opens at 8 am, classes begin at 9 am. Regional A&S begins at 10 am. Site closes at 6 pm/after court.
PayPal registration is live! Open until 2/1/2019.
On-site admission is $10 (discounted to $5 for SCA members).
Note: live weapons are prohibited on campus. Any weapon with a honed, live edge should be left at home, to include axes, swords, sharpened rapiers, sharpened knitting needles, throwing knives, etc. Be smart and don’t make the University come down on us.
We are unable to accommodate merchants this year. Sorry!
Directions
From Atlanta, travel I-20W to exit 124 (Villa Rica/UWG). Turn left (West) onto Highway 61. Take Hwy 61 for 12 miles
then turn left onto the 166 Bypass. At the 6th traffic light, turn right onto Maple Street/Hwy 166. The University will be on the left.

Midwinter A&S Faires
Please let us know if you intend to enter in the A&S Faires at Midwinter (Regional or Open). While entry registration is not required, this will help us make sure you have the best judges and display space lined up before the morning of the event. Entries without documentation are welcome to display in the Open for general feedback and populace acclaim!

Research Library
We would like to reprise the Research Library at Midwinter and welcome kingdom artisans, historians and craftsfolk to bring books, especially harder to find books, for others to peruse at the event.
Please think about bringing some of your most useful books to share with others.
*Books will return home safely with their owners at the end of the day.
